ALOHA

Well Kristy and Al have been gone for almost a month now, but I am finally getting the pictures up!  Sorry it has taken so long but for those of you that don't know I finally got my first IT job!  YEAH ME!

While Kristy and Al were here we kind of took turns taking pictures. So you might also want to go to their website to see more pictures.   But as for us this is what I have :)

The first full day they were here of course we had to take them to Ko Olina for a bottle of wine on the beach at sunset.
The next day we went for a drive around the island.   We stopped at the beach to have our pictures taken next to China Man's Hat Island (on the Windward side).
Then we stopped at the Dole Plantation and went through the maze.   When we left we had to pull off to the side of the road and get picture in front of a Rainbow.  Now you can see why this is called the rainbow state.  (And that is a pineapple field behind us).
That Monday we got a hotel room in Waikiki for two days, with a great view. While in Waikiki we walked every where we went.  But who cares how far you have to walk when your walking on a beach with a view of Diamond Head. And we made sure to stop at the Royal Hawaiian hotel for their world famous Mai Tai.   And obviously we had more than one cause we got to play in the ocean after dark :)     Apparently the ocean was feeling playful too cause it soaked Kristy and I.   The lights from the hotel made for very pretty pictures.   We still had a ways to walk to get back to our hotel so we stopped at some bars on the way back.   As you can see it is a good thing we were walking :)   But Kristy did get to learn Shaka that night.
The next day I did something I will never do again!   Even though I am deathly afraid of heights I went Parasailing.   Since I have mixed feelings about it I will just list the pictures and leave it at that :)

After that we went for another walk on the beach and got a picture of Surf legend Duke Kahanamoku Statue.
Kristy and I bought some Sarongs to wear.   We went out to dinner at a place where you had to cook your own food.   And then back to the hotel to pose for a picture in the lobby.
The day we checked out we went to Hanauma Bay to snorkle.   And well Al and Brett got more than they planned for when they SWAM OVER A SLEEPING SHARK.   It is kind of hard to see (I don't blame them for not wanting to get closer) so I drew an outline around it to help you see it.   Here are some more pictures from the underwater camera: After a hard day at the beach there is nothing like a good Corona.
Then the next day we golfed the hardest course in the nation, the Koolau Golf Club.   It is a beautiful golf course, but needless to say I didn't keep score :)   Believe it or not that is the green that Al is walking up to.   Here is Brett praying his tee shot is playable (the course has NO out of bounds marks).   Ok so we all did a lot of praying and hoping.   But none of us expected to do well we just played to say we played and for the view.
Next night we went to a Luau.   They pulled our pig from the ground and yes we all tried the Poi!   Kristy and I got up to learn to hula but so did a lot of other people so you can't really see us.   And then the show began.   Complete with a fire act.
Then we took a sunset dinner cruise.   Brett just looks like he belongs here doesn't he!   And the sunlight stayed out just long enough for us to get some great pictures of Diamond Head. And of course no trip to Hawaii is complete with out a visit to the USS Arizona Memorial.   In this picture you can the USS Arizona Memorial and the USS Missiouri which is parked right next to it (USS Missiouri is where the Japanese surrenderd). The ship closet to you in that picture is the USS Bowfin.   The parts of the USS Arizona that were sticking out of the water were removed but when you are looking out of the memorial here is what you see: And last but not least ... this picture is of a water chestnut farm. The farmer refused to sell so the mall (behind it called the Pearlridge Mall) had to build around it. I just love the little grass hut!

Well those are all the pictures for now.   Hope you guys enjoyed them.
